Chiang Mai
 
Chiang Mai is Thailand's principal northern city, and capital of a largely mountainous province.

Bo Sang umbrella & parasol village is world-famous for its crafts. The city has many genuine cottage industries.

Young people manufacture silk cotton umbrellas and paper parasols which are hand painted in a variety of floral and animal designs.

Doi Suthep - Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is Chiang Mai's most important and visible landmark and overlooks the city from its mountain backdrop. The temple's golden pagoda contains holy Buddha relics and attracts pilgrims from all over the world throughout the year.

Each day trained elephant demonstrate their highly formidable and valued forestry skills at the Mae Sa Elephant Training Centre, 30 km from town.

Chiang Rai
 
Chiang Rai is Thailand's most northern province. It is 785 km from Bangkok and rise 580 m above sea level bordering Myanmar to the north and Laos to the north and northeast.

Chiang Rai is famous for its tasty lychees and the beautiful scenery of its many attractions.

Hot Spa, Doi Tung, and The Golden Triangle are the most popular tourist attractions of Chiang Rai.

The famous Doi Tung is the northernmost mountain of Thailand where hill tribes live.

Mae Hong Son
 
Mae Hong Son, Thailand's second northernmost province, is sheltered by several high mountains and enjoys a cool climate almost all year round.

Maehong Son is bordered by Myanmar to the north & west. A strong Burmese influence can be seen in the provinces temples and buildings.

Doi Sang Long Procession is the celebration of the province which the Thai Yai tribe people hold as a highly meritorious occasion. It is usually held during the period March to May before the Buddhist Rain Retreat period.

Bua Tong Blossom Festival, in November each year, is time when the hillside of Amphoe Khun Yuam and Amphoe Mae Sraung are filled with a host of golden Bua Tong blooms. A gay as a daisy and sunflower, the Bua Tong only blossoms for 15 days.
